Is Drinking Milk Tea Every Day Healthy?

For many adults, moderate milk tea can fit a balanced diet; sugar, portion size, caffeine sensitivity and meal timing matter.

Look at the whole cup

A modest home cup with little added sugar differs from several large, heavily sweetened servings. Milk contributes nutrients and energy; added sugar contributes energy.

Notice caffeine and sleep

Tea contains caffeine. Some people tolerate an evening cup while others notice disturbed sleep, anxiety or palpitations. General adult guidance is not a personal target.

Meal timing and iron

Tea can reduce absorption of non-haem iron when taken with food or iron tablets. NHS guidance advises separating tea or coffee from iron-rich meals or supplements, particularly when iron is low.

Questions readers also ask

Are two cups too much?

Not automatically; size, strength, sugar and individual response matter.

Tea with an iron tablet?

Avoid it and follow the timing advice supplied with the medicine or by your clinician.
