Protect it from five things
Moisture, air, heat, light and surrounding odours dull tea. Tea readily picks up smells, so an open pack beside spices may change even when it looks normal.
Use the pack well
Reseal a sound barrier pouch after use or place the closed pouch inside a clean airtight tin. Keeping the original pack preserves batch and best-before information.
Choose a dry cupboard
Store away from the hob, kettle steam, sink, sunlight, cleaners and spices. Refrigeration is usually unnecessary for everyday tea because condensation and odour transfer can occur.
